Fall Dance

Good evening CES families, 

The fall season is upon us, and I'm sure you have heard your child(ren) asking about attending our "Fall Dance".  Please see the attached fliers (permission forms) for the upcoming dances.  Pre-K - 2nd grade student dance will take place Thursday, September 28th and 3rd - 5th grade student dance will take place Friday, September 29th, from 1p - 2p in the school gym. The cost: will be $2.00. Snacks will be on sale (Capri suns/juice, chips, pickles, sour patch straws, etc.)  (snack prices: .50 - $1.00)

FREE Vision Screenings
Georgia Lions – District 18-I In Conjunction with The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation will be offering FREE Vision Screenings on October 11th. Donate used eyeglasses on vision screening day.

Return completed and signed Vision Screening Consent Form to your school.

DCSD Community and Corporate Mentoring Program:  The Community and Corporate Mentoring Program in DeKalb County School District provides a wonderful opportunity for students to achieve their dreams and goals.  Parents, scan the QR code on the attachment to sign your students up for the Community and Corporate Mentoring Program.

Curriculum Night & Title I Parent Input Meeting

We are pleasesed to announce that our Annual Title I Meeting and Curriculum Night will both be held at Columbia Elementary School on Thursday, August 24, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

All Families are required to complete a school family meal application. (1 per family)

School Times Information
 School Hours
 
Our school hours are 7:45 am - 2:15 pm.

Parents, please note that our school hours are from 7:45 am - 2:15 pm. Core Instruction begins at 7:45 am. Our Intervention Block is from 8:30 - 9:00. Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time.  

Breakfast/Lunch – Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 am - 7:40 am. Students have the option to bring lunch from home or eat the school lunch. Breakfast and lunch are free for all students, and outside lunch, such as fast food is not permitted.


Carpool – Students may enter the building starting at 7:00 am.


Tardies – Please ensure students arrive by 7:45 a.m. daily.  Students are able to enter the building at 7:00 a.m. Please be mindful of this expectation, and as a reminder, tardies begin at 7:45a.m.

 

Morning Drop OffThe building will open at 7:00 am and students are marked tardy at 7:45 am. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classroom, however, parents will not be allowed down the instructional hallway after 7:45am. Please remember to park in the main parking lot and not the bus lane.
